Tehran, IRNA \u2013 Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei says the latest negotiations between Iran and the United States focused on the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, war reparations, the lifting of sanctions, and the complete end of the war against Iran and in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Baghaei made the remarks on X early on Sunday, after Iranian and American representatives held 21 hours of negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan. The negotiations began on the fourth day of a two-week ceasefire in the US-Israeli war on Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday was a long and demanding day for the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad. Intensive negotiations, which began on Saturday morning with the good offices and mediation of Pakistan, have continued without interruption up to this point, with numerous messages and texts exchanged between the two sides,\u201d he said in his post shared in Persian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDiscussions covered various dimensions of the main negotiation topics, including the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear issue, war reparations, the lifting of sanctions, and the complete end of the war against Iran and in the region,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Baghaei, Iranian negotiators drew on all their capability, experience, and knowledge to safeguard Iran\u2019s rights and interests, saying that the heavy loss of leaders, loved ones, and fellow citizens only strengthened their resolve to pursue the rights and interests of the Iranian nation more firmly than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Iran, he said, diplomacy is the continuation of the struggle of those who defend Iranian territory, adding that the country has not forgotten and will not forget the United States\u2019 record of broken promises and ill intent. Iran will not forgive \u201cthe heinous crimes\u201d committed by the US and Israel, he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNothing can or should deter us from fulfilling our great historic mission toward our beloved homeland and the noble Iranian civilization. The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to use all available tools, including diplomacy, to secure national interests,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
