U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would stop attacks on Iranian power plants for ten days at Tehran’s request, and said talks with Iran were going “very well,” although an Iranian official rejected a U.S. proposal to end nearly four weeks of fighting, calling it “one-sided and unfair.”
Trump’s statement in a post on the Truth Social platform came shortly after he threatened, during a cabinet meeting at the White House, to increase pressure on Iran if no deal was reached.
A senior Iranian official said the U.S. proposal was unilateral and unfair.
