A leading delegation from the Hamas movement headed by Mohamed Darwish, and the membership of Khaled Meshaal, Khalil al-Haya and Zaher Jabarin, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Istanbul. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the need to stabilise the ceasefire agreement, in addition to the entry of humanitarian aid and securing the basic life elements of the population.
The delegation of the movement stressed the seriousness of the escalating violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning of the repercussions of the adoption of what is known as the “Prisoner Execution Law”, and considered it a flagrant violation of international law. For his part, President Erdogan stressed Turkey’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, stressing that his country will continue to support the Palestinian cause politically and humanitarianly.
The delegation expressed its appreciation for the positions of Turkey, the government and the people, and its efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinians and preserve their rights.
